Work for Zoho Corporation - Product Design

CPQ is a sales tool for companies to quickly and accurately generate quotes for orders. CPQ applications often work in tandem with CRM platforms, ERP programs, and other business technology, which helps ensure integrated data as well as accuracy. Quotes produced with CPQ software are automated according to a preprogrammed set of rules, ensuring error-free pricing that takes into account quantities, discounts, customizations, optional features of products, multiple revenue types, and incompatibilities.


Many sales teams are stuck relying on spreadsheets and email when it comes to the final stages of their sales cycle. Instead of moving on to their next deal, they might waste hours chasing down contract approvals or trying to accurately price products.

My Role

I was the one product designer working on web products right from scratch by strategizing, conceptualizing, designing, and delivering the hand-offs to the developers working for multiple platforms. My primary responsibilities included defining the product strategy, the vision for the product, wireframing low fidelity designs to prototyping high fidelity designs, and collaborating with the product managers and developers by managing the entire design lifecycle in bringing out the product live.

How we defined in Zoho CPQ.

We have created three types of configurators and one template builder in the Zoho CRM to complete the quote process. 

  • Bundle Configurator

  • Product Configurator

  • Pricing Rules

  • Template Builder

Bundle Configurator

Bundle configurator helps to add a bunch of products into a single bundle. The bundle configurator is running a rule in the background which is given by the users.

Due to some business limitations, I'm unable to write business cases. So added the configurator page design for the reference.

Product Configurator

The product configurator helps to add a conditional pricing for the products.  It means the user can able to sell one product with different prices on different occasions/different conditions


For Example, an apple iPhone price is $1200/per product. When I purchase it as only one there is no offer in a store. But When I purchase as a combo pack like 2 iPhone at the same time the shop may give me a reasonable offer like 5% in the overall payment. 

I may sell the product on black Friday means that's the different offer. Or else if I'm an organization that offers employees a free mobile, I purchase the bulk product so the company may give me a different price based on the purchase.

Pricing Rules

In addition to product rules, CPQ price rules help control in quoting and optimize sales. Price rules automate price calculations and update quote line fields. 


Template Builder

In addition to CPQ, template builder helps to create beautiful quotations. The user can able to create below with template builder.
